Realising the structural and attitudinal barriers facing by Students with visual Disabilities when entering in to Higher Education & PPWO’s commitment towards its vision and mission, the PPWO established a Higher Secondary School namely, The Ratnakar Das Higher Secondary School for the Persons with Disabilities (RDHSSPwVDs) in the year 2018 at Budhei, Nahantara, Nimapara, Puri. Since then this School has became a new hope and aspiration among the Visually Impaired students across the state, especially belonging to tribal Districts of Odisha. This Institution is a self-financing one where food, accommodation and other educational entitlement are borne by the PPWO. The Government of Odisha, Department of School and Mass Education & Dept. of SSEPD, Govt. of Odisha has given necessary permission in favor of this Institution in Arts Stream. It is the only Higher Secondary School in Odisha providing Higher education to Persons with Visual Disabilities. The School is currently functioning at the Integrated Infrastructure Complex, Bangar, Gop, Puri.
